Who Mission: Play is Designed For
Mission: Play is a free mobile app designed for parents and caregivers of preschool-aged children, ages 3–5. Through a 12-week program, families complete short, structured activities at home that help children practice fundamental motor skills such as jumping, throwing, hopping, catching, sliding, and kicking. The app uses skill demonstrations, progressive skill levels, and approximately 10-minute daily missions to help parents and caregivers model, support, and guide their child’s motor skill development.

Who created Mission: Play
Mission: Play was co-developed by Dr. Amanda Staiano of LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center and Dr. Elizabeth “Kip” Webster of the University of Tennessee. The app builds on their research developing and testing a parent-focused, mobile-based approach to helping families support fundamental motor skill development in preschool-aged children.
